Trompe l'oeil Chicago, Trompe l oeil Murals

trompe loeil  trompe l'oeil mural image

Verdi and Puccini Opera cafe, 12'x11'
This trompe l'oeil mural was inspired by Borromini and his trompe l'oeil masterpiece in the Palazzo Spada
in Rome. It was created with oil paint on the wall and door. The trompe loeil effect was used to have a
long hallway that leads to the restroom doors. Trompe l oeil murals can create the illusion of being able
to walk right into the painting. This mural was created in a cafe in Evanston , Illinois, just north of
Chicago.
